Willow Grove is a census-designated place (CDP) in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located 37 miles (60 km) southeast of Allentown and 13 miles (21 km) north of Philadelphia. Willow Grove was once known for Willow Grove Park, an amusement park that was open from 1896 to 1976. The CDP has a total area of 3.6 square miles (9.3 km²), of which 0.28% is water. It has a hot-summer humid continental climate (Dfa) bordering upon a humid subtropical climate (Cfa) Average monthly temperatures range from 31.8 °F in January to 75.9°F in July. NAS JRB Willow Grove transitioned into Horsham Air National Guard Station in September 2011. China Airlines operates the Willow Grove Mini Office (Asplundh Tree Company) in Willow Grove CDP in Upper Moreland Township in the Philadelphia Mini Office Building at 3900 Yonge Street. The Willow Grove Interchange (Interstate 276 Turnpike) connects to Pennsylvania Route 611 (Old York/Old York) and Pennsylvania Route 63 (Moreland/York) in the Easton CDP. The community is served by the WillowGrove Interchange along the east-west Interstate 276 TurnPike (Interstates 276 and 63) along the north-south Interstate. It is located in the San Diego County, California, U.S. census-designated place (CDP) of Willow Grove. The city's ZIP code is 7054, and the city's area code is 6055. It was named after the Willow Grove area of the town of the same name, which was once home to the town's first post office, which opened in 1881. The community has a history of being called Willow Grove since the 19th century. It also has been known as Willow Grove and Willow Grove, which means "willow Grove" or "the Grove" in Spanish. The current name of the CDP was adopted in the early 20th century, when the town was first incorporated. The name Willow Grove was first used in the 18th century as a place to store grain.
